Waterproofing of Estació de França, Barcelona
The EPIZEN shopping center in Andorra has undergone a major waterproofing project carried out by IMPERA, aimed at protecting the ground-floor outdoor paving against water infiltration and ensuring the structure’s durability.
The work involved the supply and installation of the BMI PARAFOR PONTS waterproofing membrane, carried out in strict accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications and ensuring the correct execution of overlaps between sheets to guarantee the continuity of the waterproofing system.
The implemented solution included the installation of BMI’s PARAFOR PONTS waterproofing membrane, the application of an asphaltic primer to the substrate, a polyester geotextile layer, and the detailing of critical points—including extending the waterproofing up the stone surfaces to a height of one meter. In addition, expansion joints compatible with the system have been supplied and installed, ensuring the continuity of the waterproofing and accommodating the structural movements inherent to a space of these dimensions.
The total project area exceeded 4,000 m², making this a large-scale undertaking in which planning, precision in execution, and material quality were crucial to ensuring an optimal result.

This project highlights IMPERA‘s expertise in waterproofing large commercial areas and spaces with demanding technical requirements, offering durable, efficient solutions tailored to specific needs.
