Waterproofing the roof of Barcelona’s França station

A project of great historical and heritage value

IMPERA has carried out waterproofing work on the roof of the França station in Barcelona, ​​considered the oldest railway station in Spain still in operation and one of the most emblematic railway buildings in the country.

This project is part of the important investment promoted by Renfe to rehabilitate and conserve a building of great architectural and heritage value, guaranteeing its preservation for years to come.

Waterproofing designed to protect heritage

The work consists of the complete renovation of the roof’s waterproofing system, ensuring maximum tightness and protection of the structure against water leaks.

For this action, a new welded bituminous sheet system has been installed, adapted to the technical needs of the building and executed following the most demanding quality standards.

A unique building within the railway heritage

The intervention requires special care, as it is a listed building with high historical value. Each action is carried out respecting the original elements of the station and coordinating the work so that railway activity continues to develop normally.
